| Posted: | | | | I have just contributed 90 episodes worth of cast and crew for Soap. I also tried to link the child profiles (made for the individual season releases) to the recent 12-disc all seasons release. All DVDs are the same as in the individual seasons. This works locally, but apparently in the online that link can not be made? I cannot think of a real reason why several parents can not link to the same child profiles (always assuming proper verification of course), since a parent loads children (uniquely), but children do not load parents, so the existence of several parents creates no problem.
As a side issue, I have entered the Videotape Editor as the Film Editor, is that a proper functional equivalent? | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | I have never had this problem. I am quite sure I have several sets where the child profiles belong to multiple parents.
Oh, and yes, if Soap was filmed on video, that would be a proper equivalent. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Anyhow who would actually check 90 episodes for some (most likely minor) errors? Thanks for all the work. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

As a side issue, I have entered the Videotape Editor as the Film Editor, is that a proper functional equivalent? The same discs, the disc IDs, are used in a number of the complete sets of TV series that have unique packaging. . I see nothing wrong with your logic, but I believe the original cover scans should be maintained in the online data base according to the rules. The ones I have encountered did not have separate disc profiles, so no problem. I guess, there be if the diiscs are profiled in the future. First first serve I guess. Video editor, okay by me. I have done the same. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. | Posted: | | | | Agree to the original cover scans of course. But having child profiles starts to make sense for episode lists this long, even if the scans don't match.
I'll check after the contributions have gone through, but during contribution at least, I did not get an option to check the box set data. | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | Child profiles can link to multiple parents (on-line that is, not locally)
I have the Complete Seinfeld (UPC: 043396224537) which has ~34 child profiles and most all of those are also linked to the individual season releases. I checked Season 4 (043396097742) which has the same child discs as mine.
This doesn't explain any possible problems you are having with Soap but child profiles can be linked to multiple parents on-line. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! | | | Last edited: by tweeter |

| Posted: | | | | Could the field be locked down on line?
If you try and contribute anything to the Back to the Future (US) box set parent the checkbox to select the field is greyed out when you submit because enough people have enabled the online locks.
Just a theory. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | This sometimes happens to me when I have a season or two of a show, then buy the complete series (for instance, Soap). I just remove the children from the season sets. |
