| Posted: | | | | I'm pretty certain that we never add Unit Crew members such as "2nd Unit" or "Los Angeles Unit", but I can't find any definite previous threads in the forum right now.
What are your thoughts? The credits section of the rules lists several times not to include specific Unit Crew, but the rules are not specific about any other Unit Crew credit such as "Los Angeles: Sound Mixer" or "New York: Art Director", etc...
Thoughts? Gerri or Ken? | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | We don't include them in any circumstance I can think of. Certainly not second units and location units. |

| Posted: | | | | Allow me to quote Gerri: Quoting Gerri Cole: Quote: As I read the rules, none of the Unit crew should be included. The rules state "For each category, include only those people credited with the roles listed in the "Film Credits to Include" column. If someone is not credited with one of these roles, do not include them in the Crew section."
That seems pretty clear to me. If I am missing something in the discussion, which is probable, let me know.

| Posted: | | | | I have seen one movie that had very little primary crew (producer, director), and the rest was all unit crew.
On some other movies, it is not altogether clear where unit crew start and end... |

| Posted: | | | | Corey, I had no idea. Seeing as I am probably the one you are mostly referring to here, I will reaudit my entries. I can't do anything until this weekend. I have a question. Does that include all the Visual Effects crews, usually listed near the end of the credits? If I going to withdraw my contributions and reaudit again, I want to get it right, per the unpublished rules. I was so proud of myself for doing complete reaudits and reading every word and punctuation mark before contributing...just to find out that I have been doing it wrong. I don't take these things personal, I love data, but even more I love correct data. I think I will try to fix the current contributions in limbo and do it right moving forward, then wait for the version of 3.6 that will allow contributions and start over at the bottom of the list with Z, like I did when I first started getting serious about contributing. Thanks Corey. Now I know why you have been voting no on my contributions...greenies for you and my apologies for not getting the reason why. Those d_ _n elusive (unpublished) rules will be the death of me. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

On some other movies, it is not altogether clear where unit crew start and end... I have this same problem when auditing. The breaks in crew are not very clear whether they are within a unit or signaling the end of the unit and moving on. I guess you just have to make intelligent decisions and see where it leads. | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |

NO Unit/Location Crews at all,...at this time. We cannot define them to separate them from the Production Crew and give context to the credit right now. Maybe in the future but NOT NOW.
I go back to something Ken once said, (parqphrased) if you feel you have to ask, then the answer is probably no at this time

While I agree that we do not enter unit crew, I don't agree that we cannot define them to separate them from the production crew. Dividers work rather well for that task. @ mreeder50...we DO enter the VFX crew, assuming they match the crew chart, that are listed at the end of the film. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. The new dividers in v.3.6 would work even better, in my opinion. I still say no to unit crew though. | | | The colour of her eyes, were the colour of insanity |
