| Posted: | | | | Hi, I've been using DVDProfiler for years, however for some reason today when I launched it, I got an "Error Loading Database - Catastrophic failure". When I run the Database Repair utility, I get a new error: "DBISAM Engine Error #11013 Access denied to table ...Actors.DAT". My database is on a linux server, so I ran fsck and didn't find any issues. I then tried to create a new database on my local disk, but when I clicked on Add DVD to Collection, I get: "qryCollection: Field 'UPC' not found." So, I uninstalled and re-installed DVDProfiler and had the same results.
Help!
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, and yes, I tried running as Adminstrator. ET |

1) Backup 2) Backup again 3) For more information see Rule #1 4) NEVER talk about fight club

| Posted: | | | | No, but it wouldn't take too much time for me to re-create my database, if only I could start from scratch, but I can't because of the qryCollection failure.
It seems that even after an un-install and re-install there's still some of my old database info remaining. Any idea where to look for it so I can remove it (other than the obvious).
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | You shoudl be able to re-download your DB from online and lose very little info. I'm not sure why you can't re-install. Maybe the problem is with DVD Profiler's registry entry. (No idea how to fix, sorry.) |

| Posted: | | | | Hi all,
I've opened a support ticket, but thought I'd share some new info in case anyone has some other suggestions.
I un-installed DVDProfiler again, this time ticking the box to delete all databases, and when I re-installed I was able to start a new database. I started adding DVDs to my new, empty database and all was well.
Yesterday, when I re-launched DVDProfiler to continue adding DVDs, I got the same catastrophic failure again! This time, when I ran the database repair utility, it said it was successful, however when I re-launched DVDProfiler, I got the catastrophic failure again.
No idea what's going on here, but it seems I'm completely stuck now. The new database was on a local disk instead of on my server so it's not a network thing.

| Posted: | | | | More information just in case anyone else is experiencing this. I had tried the backup and backup again approach, I started a fresh database on a fresh DVDProfiler install, and ensure that I performed a backup every time I ran DVDProfiler and added any discs. I got part-way through my collection before getting the same error, restored my database from the backup and continued. Next time I got the error I tried to restore and it wouldn't. I tried the .bak version of the backup and that also didn't work. Screwed again...
So, I installed DVDProfiler on an XP machine and tried to load my original "corrupted" database, and amazingly enough it's intact!
So, I'm good to go for now, at least while I've got an XP machine kicking around.
