Generally speaking, 20th Century flicks are extremely underrepresented on Blu-ray. One great exception is The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn, in color long before color became the norm.

Personally, I think of three titles which should be available soon if the people responsible have any sense:

The Ten Commandments
Ben Hur
Spartacus

For the first two I am of course referring to the Charlton Heston color talkies.

I'm a bit skeptical about Blu-ray b&ws. Anybody seen Casablanca?

Anyhow, what is everyone out there thirsting for on Blu-ray other than the Tolkien trilogy?

No reason to be skeptical, it looks fantastic, as does most b&w blu-rays I've seen.

No reason at all to be skeptical.

Casablanca, The Seventh Seal, The Wages of Fear, The 400 Blows, The Third Man all look FANTASTIC!

Yeah, the added greyscale depth of HD makes B&W films (if the source print is in good shape and not a 19th-generation theatrical print) just sparkle.

I'll second that!
Also A Christmas Carol UPC 089859900129 w/Alastair Sim, The General & It's a Wonderful Life.

Some like Casablanca & The General have some general have great extras.

was three posts 2/3 minutes apart necessary for one title each?

as far as ben hur check here. no release date but there are some forum posts linked on that page. from a quick glance looks like it's announced but no firm date as the restoration apparently need to be done again. Did see posts about 2010 or 2011 (so could be a while )

Everything by Billy Wilder. Billy Wilder is one of the great directors whose films hasn't even made it into decent DVD releases. The only exception, imo, is the Criterion edition of Ace in the Hole.

Looking forward to: Sunset Blvd, The Apartment, Ace in the Hole, Some Like it Hot, Double Indemnity and more or less everything else.

Suprised no one mentioned all of the Star Wars movies.
