| Posted: | | | | I have just installed Profiler on my laptop running Windows 7, but the date format is stuck as mm/dd/yyyy. How do I change it to dd/mm/yyyy.
I can't find an option within profiler, I have also gone through the control panel to check the date format that Windows is set to, but even though that says dd/mm/yyyy it doesn't make any difference to Profiler.
Anyone have any ideas how to change it? |

| Posted: | | | | Someone else asked this a little while ago. Unfortunately no solution was found. Since replying then I've changed from the RC of Windows 7 to the version available to buy and my date format is still in the correct format by UK standards. Sorry I can't provide an answer but it definitely can be displayed "correctly". |

| Posted: | | | | Since DVDProfiler isn't a Unicode compatible program, the date format has to be set separately. Therefore start the control panel of Win7 and choose "Region and Language" (or equivalent) in the now opening window choose "Administration" (or equivalent) it's the last tab to the right. In the lower part of this window you can check whether your settings for non-unicode applications are correct, if not, you can change them there (administrational rights required). Hope this solves your problem. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | It does but only until I restart Profiler when it reverts back to mm/dd/yyyy. |

So let me see if I get this correctly: For some reason your region settings for non-unicode applications were not identical to the normal region settings. When you change them to the correct settings they: a) change back to the incorrect value? or b) are ignored by DVDProfiler? If option a) is correct: How did you install Win7? Clean install on empty HDD or did you do an update? If it was an update: from which version? If option b) is correct: Did you install DVDProfiler on the same account you're using it now? Is this account an admin account or did you have to run the "Run as ..." feature? If none is correct: Please explain what happens. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! Everything worked fine under Vista. I then updated (clean install) to Windows 7.
When I open Profiler the dates are all mm/dd/yyyy
I go through the control panel to look at how dates should be formatted and it clearly shows dd/mm/yyyy. The date format on the display in the taskbar is correct. If I click to change it but actually leave it as it is and click apply, then I go switch back to Profiler and click to sort by title/date/whatever the dates change to dd/mm/yyyy. All is good until I close Profiler and then reopen it when the dates revert back to mm/dd/yyyy.
It's strange. Every other programme I have displays the date correctly, expect Profiler. |

| Posted: | | | | And how did you install DVDProfiler? On an admin account, or a main-user account? | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | probably a normal installation rather than ran as an administrator. Should that really make a difference? |

| Posted: | | | | It might. In this case you'd have to check the "non-unicode" settings of the admin account too. If you can't access an admin account via "Welcome-screen", boot your machine in safe mode (Press F8 at startup) and check the settings as described in my post above. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | Thanks, but I guess it's just a Windows 7 thing.
All the settings are correect from Administrator, User accounts. English (United Kingdom) and the date format is set as dd/mm/yyyy, but Profiler seemingly ignores it. If I go to make changes to the date setting while Profiler is running, but actually select what it is already set as, then Profiler will display correctely. BUt the moment it is closed and restarted ir reverts back to the mm/dd/yyyy format.
Never had this problem before so it must be something to do with Windows 7.
Odd. |
