| Posted: | | | | Hello all!
I am really liking the DVD profiler software, it's way more than I ever will need, but a lot of cool features and a great way to keep tabs on my collection!
One thing I am trying to do though, is just do a filter on just the titles of my collection. For example, right now it counts all my DVD's/Blu Rays and the TV season sets, each disc is added to the total. I am just wanting it to count the title of the set, not each disc (ie: Lost: Season 2 rather than Lost: Season 2 - Disc 1, Disc 2, etc...) So instead of having a total of like 500, it says I have like 545, since it is counting all the discs inside a set... I like that for say the trilogies and box sets I have, but not for mainly the TV season sets I have... I am sure there is a way to do this, but I can't seem to figure it out... Anyone able to help me out?
Thanks! |

| Posted: | | | | Are you talking about the total DVDs number or the collection number? The collection number you can set, remove...just go into personal information when editing a profile to change, remove. If it's the total number of DVDs, at this time, you can't change that. It does count the number of discs.
However, the beta edition that is being tried right now, does give you the option of whether or not to count a disc. So it's coming, but not here yet. Hope this helps! | | | Lori |

After you have removed the collection number reassign the numbers from the tool bar above.. and don't forget to backup twice.. Once to your harddrive or memory stick the .dpb file and also upload (not download) your collection to Invelos or a secondary backup,, and also for your collection to be viewed from any computer..

Retailer: Child tags for each of retailers I shop; I save the date ordered (yyyymmdd)/order number in the notes section. purchase price in the general section is date paid.
Box set parent/child tags: Grand parent, created profiles for profile grouping Star Trek, James Bond, Dark Shadows, etc. Parent level 1, Box sets main profile Parent level 2; Box sets in a box set, example Get Smart, West Wing, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., etc have season box sets in a custom container which I mark level 1. Child the profile w/disc.
TV: Completed series, Mini-series, Movies/plays, Misc, Series,
Music: Jazz, Opera, Classical, Pop
Like a number forum contributors I don't use a collection number for TV child profiles, profiles. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own. Ineptocracy, You got to love it. Yes, total number of DVD titles, not actual discs... Welcome Aboard !! Thanks! I tried this method and it seems to work for what I wanted... I also had to take off the trilogy headers too (ie: it counted the Back to the Future Trilogy box set as a collection number and each individual disc inside, I didn't want to include the box set in my count, just the actual titles)... I need to go through my collection soon (we are building a DVD cabinet/storage soon) and will see if this new system works the way I wanted it to! Thanks again guys for the help! I am finally getting my collection under control! |
