Not sure I completely understand the question here... Are you in need of the (currently unavailable) Profiler 2 installation files? Did you loose you old reg key? Trying to create a new registration for the old version? (I don't recall any longer what exactly the limitations were on an unregistered Profiler 2 install...) In the first case, I'm sure one of us has the installer archived and can share if you really need it, though it's pretty well crippled with the online database now unavailable - I don't think you can even add manual profiles without having at least some elements already present locally (onlinelist.dod and a couple others, if I recall.) In the second and third cases you'd have to get a reply from Ken or Gerri to recover a legacy key. But then you're still stuck with the previous issue. For a new 2.x reg, if available, you'd probably still buy at the current price but they may be able to generate a legacy key as part of that... it's something you'd have to ask. Inquire via the Contact Us page. Unless for some reason you're really trapped into that particular OS for other reasons, Profiler 3 will work at least decently on a Windows 2000 system - if you can get your hands an installer to upgrade that old 98 box (be sure you have or can download critical device drivers from the manufacturer for W2K, things like display/net/mouse/etc, and if it has enough memory; 256M desirable for Profiler use.) Not sure what SP is minimum for Profiler 3, but likely at least have to install DirectX and probably IE6 for basic operation. Probably easier just to find an old complete system on the cheap. e.g. eBay is awash with inexpensive vintage laptops you won't have to feel bad about disassembling for your custom setup... |
