I have some personal dvd's that would not be of any interest to others and would like to enter them but as far as I can see you need an EAN or UPC number and you have to upload the details.

Surely there is a way of adding titles manually ?

Indeed there is.

1. Click "DVD -> Add to Collection..."
2. Click "Add by Title"
3. Uncheck "Download profile from Invelos" at the bottom
4. Enter the title, region and locality. Click "Add DVD"
5. Enter all the data. Click "OK"
6. Click "Add Now to Owned"

This will create a profile with "Manual DVD #?" in lieu of a UPC, where ? is whatever number of manual DVD it is you've entered into your local database.

These types of profiles cannot be contributed to the main database.

edit: I've added this information to the DVD Profiler Wiki, and in that entry I also included a link to a neat little thread here on Invelos that I just discovered:

http://www.invelos.com/Forums.aspx?task=viewtopic&topicID=123112

That link goes to a thread started by Hal in 2007 where users post which manual profiles they have that they'd be willing to share via e-mail to other users.

excellent thanks. I was nearly there but didn't uncheck the "download profile" which of course now seems obvious.
