Am I right in saying there is no specific place to mark a dvd as sold and no long owned ? I realise you can do it with tags but I would prefer to have a tab at the top of the index along with the "All","Owned","Wish List" and "Ordered".  So when I marked an item as "Sold" it would no longer appear in the owned tab.

Try the "MyTabs"-plug-in by Mediadogg.
It gives you fully customizable and additional tabs
Download from here: http://mysite.verizon.net/vze39sc9/mediadogg/id9.html
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

this is a frequent request. hopefully we get customizable (or at least a few extra) tabs in a future version. But as goblinsdoitall said, for now there is Mediadogg's MyTabs

your other option, what I do, is put the title in a separate database. Of course my 'sold' movies are generally ones that i've upgraded to blu-ray or had duplicates of so I still see the movie in my list and don't worry about accidentally buying a second copy

Just wondering why i would want to maintain sold titles IN my database as opposed to simply removing them. They're gone, they have no relevance to me any longer.

This is the way I personally see it as well. But what the heck... to each their own.

I agree with you two about keeping sold titles in the current database.  I think that if I wanted to keep track of my sold titles (so far I've never sold one, though) I would take Agrare's advice about putting them in a separate SOLD database.

Ditto that - I personally have no use or need for any profiles in my database that I no longer own.

But to answer the OP, how about a 2nd database for those profiles?

If I were to rely on DVDProfiler only to keep track of my DVD watching, I would be reluctant to remove sold DVDs, because then that information is lost.

Anyway, using a second database as already suggested might be the best solution.

Another suggestion to add to the pile; you could put them in your wishlist and tag them.  Or just put them in your ordered list if you don't use that.

Alternately, I would create a manual profile (with a sort name starting with "zzz") and drop all the sold profiles into it.

Translation (for those who may not have been around all that long):

Create a manual profile as a box set and add all the "sold" profiles as children.

Similar to the screenshot in my signature.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

Surely I am not the only person out there that can't remember whether I have seen a movie or not ?? Especially the bad ones.
