So my computer crashed (it just shut down) while I was running refresh updated profiles. I didn't get a chance to even look at the list but know there should be at least a few titles with updates from previous updates. But it tells me all profiles are up to date. I can take a title that i remember and do a preview changes and it shows me the differences. but nothing shows when I try to do a refresh.

I tried a DB repair and it didn't do anything

I think you might have a corruption in the files called onlinelist.dod and onlinlist.sel (think those are the names, since I'm not at my computer. Not sure of the exact path, but I think they are in your profile folder (documents and settings for xp or users for vista. If you cam't find them I can look up the exact path tomorrow morning.

Move both files to a temp location and tefresh the online profile list. This should download the complete profile list, so it will take some time.

Good luck

I can only find CastCrewCache.dod doing a complete hard drive search

If you run vista the files are located here:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\DVD Profiler

For xp that should be: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\DVD Profiler

The files are called OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod. Rename both files to *.old

You might need to enable viewing of hidden files because the AppData folder in Vista and the Application Data folder in XP are hidden. This may also be the reason why these folders are not included in your search.

thank you sir, that did the trick.

and I had hidden files shown but I think your right, the search bar in Vista must exclude them.

anyway, redownloaded the collection list and now see all the available updates. I just remembered. didn't Ken say you can hold down ctrl when refreshing the list and it will redownload the whole list?

anyway, renaming works once you know where the files are so its all good.

I didn't know that, but holding down CTRL does indeed do a full download also. I'm just not sure what happens if you have a corruption in the online list.

Anyway, glad your problem is solved.

Chris
