Normally I would PM Ken on this,, but I don't think he reads his PMs, but he does read the forums everyday ..
I installed IE 8 ,( please no 'razing-praising' with Firefox/Mozilla  and other browsers), and what I have discovered is  the box to the right of where I am typing right now is the Insert Emoticons area, and normally when I had IE 7  I could hover my mouse pointer over the icons and the names would light up such as angry/happy/smile etc etc .. IE 8 does not do this on Invelos web site here .
At first I thought it  was an error on IE8's behalf but in my three day investigation on this I have found that other forums that have the same idea of emoticons have no problems with that mouse feature, plus all areas of IE8 and highlighted links with urls etc have no problem either.
I'm no Internet engineer, but thought I'd pass this along to the powers to be for ideas or suggestions to get that small area looked at.. /and/or  does others of you here with IE8 have the same scenario?????

It works, if you activate the "Compatibility View" of the Explorer. I've only the German version, so maybe the screenshot helps a little bit:

Firefox behaves the same way, it's actually because IE8 isn't displaying the alt text on a mouse hover which is how browsers are really supposed to behave.  If ken adds the "title" attribute and sets it to the same value as the "alt" attribute, you'll see those again.

If you hover your mouse over the image next to my name, you should see "DVD Profiler Unlimited Registrant" no matter which browser you use because it has that value for both alt and title.

Didn't intend to make that sound like it was IE8's fault - I just like Chrome.

Thanks, can you also fix another very annoying issue with IE8. If you try to edit a post that is longer than the text window, text bounces up and down without any control while you type. Works fine with Compatility View, but without that, editing is almost impossible.

Chrome may be fast,, but I don't care for it all the time as there is NO : 'find on this page'  or 'spellcheck' that I know of,,    unless it is hidden away somewhere on the page ..
