Hi, any time I try to add a new DVD, lately I have been receiving a really annoying error "The specific procedure could not be found" that continues to pop up repeatedly. I have to hold down escape and quickly exit out of the program.

I have the latest release of DVD Profiler, Windows XP and have tried renaming my database file which did nothing.

Help?

-has this problem just arose recently out of the blue., or did you upgrade to a new O/S?
-any new programs recently  installed such as anti virus (or bad-updates)or browser?
-Have you tried to close off all running programs and reboot PC?
-have you checked to see if Hard drive needs defrag?
- if all this fails .., try a windows restore to last date the program recently worked best,. but not too far back just a few days..

It definatley sounds like a browser/ antivirus/admin-vista / networking --  situation, ratehr than the program itself.

I just uninstalled and then re-installed the program, seems to have fixed the issue.

Just a note: defragmenting a computer would have no effect on programs operating properly or not.

defragging a harddrive makes the Hard drive easier/ faster to find information.., disc check corrects any crossed files.. BUT I am glad it is working fine now ..
