Try restoring a few profiles and see if that works. If so, restore larger and larger batches until it's all in. |

How can I restore just a few profiles, I can't remember seeing an option to break down the backup? | | | |

How big is your swap file? It might be possible that DVDP tries to load the whole 5.5g file into memory or expands it there. That means you'd need 5.5g +x (the OS needs memory, too) of RAM memory. 3.5g of your physical RAM and at least 2 gigs of swap file. | | | Karsten

God help me, if that's true Karsten, I am approaching 12..5GB  I am trying a restore to a blank database, so far no such issue. We will see. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!

| | Posted: | | | | Try running the Task Manager by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and selecting it. Watch the Page File (PF Usage) graph while you restore the DB. If it's already near the top, you have something that is using up all your available memory or you have your swap file disabled (or both). |

| | Posted: | | | | Still so far so good, Doc, on the test. PF Usage is running about 4.24GB, CPU usage running about 50% give or take, with some pretty healthy spikes. But it is chuggin along, no sign of richie's error.
