| Posted: | | | | Wrong link, T!M. That's to the first initial/middle initial ruling. I dunno where the one is on JR and Sr, though I think it was about the same time, with a similar filter being applied. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

| Posted: | | | | You can simply put them as credited without the comma and when you submit, it'll automatically be converted with the comma and C-A without. |

Theoretically you can, yes. But that's not so practical when the person actually appears in your database more than once, using both types of formatting... Or if you do that now, and then years from now you suddenly buy a DVD where the same person is credited WITH the comma, you'd have to go back and "fix" the commaless entry using "credited as", just so you can enter the new entry "as credited" - else you'd be stuck with separate, non-linking entries for this person. And that is exactly what this bit of standardizing was meant to address: we can now simply enter all of them with the comma, and not worry about pointless double entries, shifting common names, and so on. You can just enter all suffixed names consistently, and things will work out fine. Of course you can keep entering some of these names with, and some of them without the comma, and yes, in that case the filter will indeed protect the online database against such a local devation from the standard, but why would you? Again: entering a suffixed name without the comma locally really doesn't seem worth the hassle it gets you as soon as you encounter another credit for the same person where he is credited with the comma. |

| Posted: | | | | Hrm - I can't recall. Do you automatically re-download the profile when it gets released? If so, then the comma-no comma issue will resolve itself and the tie-in linking would only be hampered until then. Few days at best (assuming it's approved). |

But if you do, you'll indeed end up with the proper "suffix-with comma, credited as suffix-without-comma" entry in your database - in which case none of what I said applies at all. |

| Posted: | | | | My spacing and use of dashes and other punctuations may have confused my intended meeting. I meant to ask if DVDP automatically downloads the profile once it has been released for those who contributed the update? |

Well, the amended profile is available in your download list, if that's what you're asking. |
