| Posted: | | | | Hello all
I've been auditing my Doctor Who's recently and something odd was brought to my attention.
The runtime of my Disc 2 is: 2.11.10.
But...the runtime to 2 other users had: 02:13:25.
I bought mine on the day of release - 1 of the others bought his a couple of days later, while the other only 3 weeks ago.
When looking at DVD Decrypter it gives a total runtime for the disc of 02:13:25, but the individual episodes are: 45.05 40.43 45.22 Which obviously adds up to 2.11.10
Could anyone else who has this set check their runtimes because I've never come across this situation before (at least, not where a re-release, wasn't involved).
Many thanks. |

If we select Play All the running time is as DJ Doena states but if you select each individually you get Pantheon's amount! I've got the same version as Pantheon, purchased a couple of days after him. Edit: Just downloaded DVD Decrypter & my figures there match Pantheon's. It looks like something changed between the original release & DJ Doena's. | | | Last edited: by Ardos |

| Posted: | | | | When I play this disc in my VLC player (don't have any other player software right now), it also shows 42.58 for the episode: If there's really a time difference of more than 2 minutes: What is missing on your discs? PS: I also have a D0AF DiscId. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | <Hand up> Ooh, ooh, can I butt in here?! The original box-set disc 2 was faulty. There was a mail-in replacement available (I know, I did it!). If I remember rightly, there was a playback issue between 'Play Episode' and 'Play All' options - it may even be a 'missing two minutes' type problem. Does that help at all? | | | Ian Registered with IVS 6 August 2001 Excellent DVD/BD Comparison site |

Does that help at all? It certainly helps if you've got a link for that. By the sound of it, the individual 2nd episode on disc 2 is missing something. I only use Play All so I've never spotted anything amiss before. |

| Posted: | | | | Try this: Digital Spy thread from post 9 down. Episode 'World War III' wouldn't play correctly unless via the 'Play All' option. At least 2 minutes were missed out. I got the disc replaced - via the address mentioned on that forum. | | | Ian Registered with IVS 6 August 2001 Excellent DVD/BD Comparison site |

I got the disc replaced - via the address mentioned on that forum. Perfect! Many thanks. Yes indeed this does seem to be the issue. If you've got one of the discs with the issue, play World War III, skip ahead to about 14 minutes in. The Doctor will put a body in the cupboard & say "Sorry", it will then cut to Jackie & Mickey in the flat. If you then go Play All and skip ahead to about 59 minutes you'll be at the same place except after he says "Sorry" it'll stay with the Doctor and there'll be more talk there. |
