| Posted: | | | | I haven't purchased the full version yet, but due to all of the positive comments on AVS, etc. I am planning to. I have been sing an online service for a while and I like it OK and it is FAST but I would like a local backup of my collection and I would like to enter some custom DVDs. I have searched support briefly and do not see answers to the following:
1. Why is it so slow to add DVDs? It does seem like it will take forever to enter my 700+ DVDs.
2. Can I enter DVDs on the website from other computers (like at work) and have them on my main local system (is this what synch is for)?
3. Why is it so S-L-O-W? (just kidding, but it really seems slow) I have been using the search by title, is it faster using the UPC?
4. Can I enter custom DVDs I recorded myself? I record some stuff from TV in HD and burn it to DVD in AVHC and would like to add these to my collection, which I cnnot in the online servie I use.
Thanks in advance and thanks to all of the advocates of DVDP over at |

| Posted: | | | | There is a BulkImport plugin that will allow you to import your collection if you have a list of UPC's.
Alternately, entering all those DVDs will go fast if you have a barcode scanner, such as a CueCat - they tend to go under $10 on eBay. |

It is much faster if you use the UPC. Also you make sure this way, that you add the correct profile for the release you have. Quote: 4. Can I enter custom DVDs I recorded myself? Just uncheck the "Download profile from Invelos" checkbox at the bottom of the Add DVD screen and enter your DVD by Title. | | |

Thanks Dr. FYI, you can also import a list of titles and get the Manual Profiles genned for you. Just create a file like this (the first entry is the field name = Title): Title This is title#1 Title 2 Another Title You get the idea Then use BulkEdit, checkbox Title to display that data, then select "Load CSV and Validate" and point to the file. That's it. That will create placeholder profiles for all your personal DVDs. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! | Posted: | | | | How about adding custom DVDs recorded yourself? I have a bunch recorded from TV that are important to me. |

| Posted: | | | | As TomGaines wrote a few posts up, "just uncheck the "Download profile from Invelos" checkbox at the bottom of the Add DVD screen and enter your DVD by Title."
Check out my collection under "Bean Tales" for a few examples of home made DVDs I've profiled. |

| Posted: | | | | Go to "Add DVD", switch to "Add by Title", uncheck "Download from Invelos".
This way you can create any profile you want. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
