| Posted: | | | | Hello everybody, I'm posting this problem, 'cause i searched in the forum and with google, but no one seems to have the same problem as I do, so I hoped that you guys are able to help me. I'm running Arch Linux with Wine 1.1.22-1 with DVD Profiler 3.5.1 (Build 1252). As soon I start DVD Profiler, I get a wine error which informs me, that DVD profiler encountered a serious problem and needs to close, however, when I close the dialogue DVD Profiler starts up, as if there was no error message! I'm able to work with the Profiler 'til the program crashes with the following message: e.g.: I started the profiler, selected a dvd (Dr. House Season 1) and added a new history event (watched it on the 31.05.2009). As soon I approved the data with OK, the program crashes, but the information is stored! (I started the profiler again and in the history-event was there). I uploaded the database and downloaded it to windows xp x64 and there seems to be no problem. I also reinstalled wine and deleted all related data to the profiler and reinstalled the profiler again, but there was no change. 2 months ago it all worked flawlessly... (I also don't have the common "Invalid floating point operation" error, it's gone since 2 months!) Hope you guys got any ideas. |

| Posted: | | | | I think that you have two different issues. I've only started getting the first when I upgraded to 1.1.22, and it seems to have impact on Profiler running for me.
The second has been an issue for me for a while. It seems that something to do with upgrading Wine causes js3250.dll to break and I get this issue whenever I upgrade from one version to another. I can 'fix' it by deleting the .wine directory and reinstalling DVD Profiler using setup.exe. Although this requires you to re-enter your registration and do other setup functions, the database itself and all of the files are stored in the DVD Profiler directory, and so don't need to be re-installed.
It's a pain in the arse and I've been planning to report it to Wine for a while.

| Posted: | | | | Cause the error was a pain in the arse I tried something different. I replaced the js3250.dll with a new one, which I downloaded from the internet. The next time I started DVD Profiler, it crashed because of an access violation error with the xul.dll file (yey problem one solved! ). I replaced this file also, started the profiler again and now it told me to install gecko again. Once I did this, there was no error anymore! Don't know, if the problem is now solved, but it seems so Will inform you, if the error returns... | | | Last edited: by stand-alone |

| Posted: | | | | I've only just thought of it, but you may find that reinstalling gecko may be enough. Easiest way to do this is using winetricks (see the link in my sig for more information).
