| Posted: | | | | I haven't used DVD profiler in a couple of months, and when I went to open it the message "Unable to load selected database. DBISAM Engine Error # 9217" popped up. So I ran the repair of the database, and as it was repairing the same message popped up, but then finished the repair. It went to open the profiler again on its own when it was done with the repair and the same thing popped up. I've tried everything! Can anyone help??? |

| Posted: | | | | Try to create a new database via menu "File -> Open database ...". In the first attempt check the "copy existing database" checkbox. See if this one opens. If yes, problem solved. If no, create an empty database and load a backup file. Sadly you didn't upload your collection, the online collection is always a good secondary backup solution if your main backup files are too old or corrupted. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Recently I got one of my Vista machines tied up in knots. Messed up Profiler. I wound up uninstalling DVD Profiler, including removing registry entries. Rebooted. Then I reinstalled from a clean copy freshly downloaded (taking no chances). All the plugins got reloaded. Re-entered my registration key. Then I restored my backup and refreshed the profiles. Took about an hour, but after that, all is well again. If you don't have a backup to restore from, make sure you save whatever is in the DVD Profiler directories before deleting and restoring. You night be able to then open the old default database. If all else fails, as a last resort, if you don't have your collection online - no backup, etc., and nothing else works, you can re-create most of your database from collection.xml using BulkEdit XML Import. After doing a refresh to update Cast/Crew, you should be 99% there. If you decide to do this, send me a PM and I will give you a step-by-step set of instructions.
Caveat: I'm not sure how well the XML Import works with 3.5.1 - forgot about that. But it might be worth a try if all else fails.
Good luck ... | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |
