Right now regardless if they are only an actor or only a crew member the results are combined all into one result which makes it difficult to separate the two from each other without going through each and every profile that shows up. Something that would be very time consuming.
If we could have the ability to search separately for either an actor or a crew member it would make it so much easier.
#2. It might be a good idea to be able to include the birth year (if currently in the database) to be able to find out how a certain person is credited more often than their same name counterpart with a different by (or none at all). For instance the two crew members who are credited with John Williams (1903, 1932), both will come up in a search for John Williams. If we could add the BY for the composer it wouldn't include the 1903 one or any other w/o a BY attached.
I hope that made some sense. |

I hope that made some sense. I mentioned the above to Ken when the Look-up Tool first came to be... but at that time at least he couldn't do anything about it. Quoting Ken Cole:Quote: Currently the index is not built to consider birth years. I'll add it to my list for further investigation. The complication is that the lookup goes based on the Credited As field, which does not have a direct tie to birth year. The birth year is tied to the common name entered for that credit, which is not considered for the lookup tool. Still, possibly there's a way to make it work. | | | Pete |
