NR does not automatically = Adult I understand that but just as you would a movie you may not want a 13yr old watching a tv show NR or TV-14 or whatever else. That is why this system is in place right? And as I said before beta it worked correctly, Ive used this feature since I purchased it in 2007 and I specically use it for watched stats. Before Beta I could set up a user at age 13 and it would not displaythat user in the watched by... option just as it does for that age for an R rated film. ugh..I wish I knew how to display pictures Id show you the dvdprofiler menu I m reffering to. | | | | Last edited: by Mike |

The problem is that I mentioned to Ken that the >= rating filter didn't show all 18+ ratings when you selected the "lowest" 18+ rating. He then changed the filter so it uses the actual age connected to a rating. This works fine for < and > but for = it should not use the age but the actual rating. | | | | - Jan |

Not sure which bit you need help on so I'll start at the beginning. 1) With the relevant menu open in Profiler press the Prt SCR key on your keyboard. 2) Open it in your image program and save wherever you want. 3) Upload to something like photobucket , you'll need to register. 4) Copy the html link photobucket provides. 5) In your forum post click the icon that's a mountain with the sun (second from right in the icon list just below the subject line) 6) Paste the link into the pop up box. I have a young daughter myself.... and I do not depend on such a thing in profiler.... If I have reason to think a title may not be suitable for a younger child she does not see it before I do. Not go by the rating and say... well this one is NR, PG-13 or R (or what have you) so that instantly means you do not get to watch it. Those ratings are done by other people... not me. So who knows why it is rated the way it is... Nope... I see it for myself and then I decide if she gets to watch it or not.
NR just means it has not been rated at all... so how can you lump everything together and automatically say it can't be watched?
From glancing at my collection alone...
- Adventures of Aquaman: Complete Collection (A kids toon from the '60s) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- Alice in Wonderland (TV Miniseries made by Hallmark) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- An Angel For Christmas (A Christmas Cartoon) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- Annie (Musical from Disney) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus, Barbie as Rapunzel, Barbie in the Nutcracker, Barbie of Swan Lake, Barbie: Fairtopia (A bunch of Barbie toons my daughter loves) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- Ben 10: Seasons 1-3 (A Cartoon she collects) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- Brady Bunch: Complete Series (A TV series suitable for the whole family from '69 - '75) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
- Bratz: Genie Magic (A cartoon geared towards little girls that she enjoys) That is Rated NR... so should be filtered out!?!
That much just from glancing at my collection only through the letters A and B. A load that she enjoys... that is not rated. So the way you are talking she would not be able to track when she watches these DVDs just because they are rated NR. So sorry no I do not agree. I believe Ken was right making it the way he did.
Another one that just popped in my mind. The Secrets of Isis: The Complete Series a kids show from my childhood that actually teaches kids morals... rated NR... so she wouldn't be able to track when she watches them. Nope... I just can't agree that NR should be automatically treated as Adult. | | | | Pete |

I completely agree on all accounts, Im not saying becouse its NR or R or whatever you cant make a desicion for a person of age to watch, Im saying before beta an age of 13 or below the menu does not even list that user for ratings NR,R,pg-13 ect unless you checked filter users by ratings then your able to check that user. |

| | Posted: | | | | Even excluding the issue of children's TV & direct-to-video titles that Pete brought up, the other issue with filtering NR out with Parental Control is the fact that what NR means for currently released films is not what NR means for classic movies. I mean, you look at a couple of the newer releases sitting on the display at the shop I work at and you see unrated editions of Tropic Thunder and Death Race, and you know that those automatically are being marketed as being more adult. Of course, both of those were rated R to begin with. But then you look at classic films, like The Sound of Music or White Christmas, and you have a very different style there, with those examples being very family friendly, very much a kind of all-ages film. But all of those examples share the NR rating. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
