Before I made a submission, I wanted to know if animated to film comparisons fall under the storyboard comparisons for features. I'm unsure if it does, though some directors do use animatics now instead of storyboards (while others might use both). BTW, the specific example I'm looking at is Zodiac: 2-Disc Director's Cut (HD DVD, but I think the regular DVD has it as well).

Just curious what other's thoughts were. I also felt this was OK to post since this type of question could possibly crop up later.

In my opinion animatics is just a modern form of storyboard, so I'd say that it qualifies.
