greetings tony If you own a PTouch printer you can print a set of lables using the PTouch plugin. If you own a Dymo label printer, you can use the Dymo toolkit available on the Dymo web site to print a bunch of bar cides from a list of UPCs in word, text or Excel file. I have coded a more complex sample label, available in the Layouts Forum. You can use that one as a learning exercise and post any questions in that thread. | | | Thanks for your support. pdf I have been wondering about that myself...ever since I saw the original plugin. If the barcode is already on the DVD, why would you want to print another one to stick on it? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Lot of DVDs in slipcases don't have individual UPCs, so you might print either the Disc-ID as barcode, or if that doesn't work for selecting purposes you use a homebrew-UPC. Why print them at all? Most likely it started with a labelprinter that was already there and needed a purpose. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

Steve I'm curious about this. Can somebody point me to a statement of Invelos policy that prohibits this? (Licensed comercial use of course is not a prohibition). By the way, this is sheer curiosity. Since I am not an Invelos representative, it is not my place to know about or worry about any user's business relationship with Invelos. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Steve I find this very hard to believe. DVDP is a great program for keeping track of your collection, but as a rental program it just will not fly! pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

cya, Mithi I still don't get it. Other than the first time I added a DVD to my collection, I have never felt the need to look at the barcode. Beyond that, as a collector, I can't imagine placing a sticker on any of my DVDs. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Steve I was thinking the same thing, Steve, which is exactly why the program does not allow for multiple entries...easily. Programs to run a business are out there but they cost a lot more than $30, tat's why the limitation. Lots of people want more out of this program than they have any rational reason to expect for the cost of the program. Skip So Skip, you have asked Ken about this? If not, what data do you have to back your claim that Ken based his database index around the UPC/EAN/Disc-id to make it hard to use DVDProfiler to run a video store? pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA | | | Last edited: by pdf256 |

wooow what an imagination , i was gone to work so did not had time to reply soner to this topic ! i can assure you all i have no intention to start a videostore with this program , it just isn't made for that , the reason i asked about the barcodes , is that i have some dvd's where the barcode is wrong , so i could print them myself , what the " rent" you're all talking about , it is just when i give a dvd to a friend or relative , if it would be possible to simply scan the dvd in to that topic that's all , i am an electrical engeneer , so no movie store for me !hahaha but thanks to you all for the reply !!

visionman The only way a barcode could be wrong is if they are bootleg's then? Why else to want to print different barcodes too those as supplied on the cover? Steve | | | Last edited: by snarbo |
