| Posted: | | | | i picked up a box set of the carry on films,
carry on: the ultimate collection - 5037115307132 this set contains 3 digipacks, each containing 10 discs, the digipacks have a UPC i can add.
when i have checked the disc id's, it turns out that this set is a re-release of another ultimate box set - 5037115226136 this set is in the database as a box set with the 30 discs as child profiles.
so how to contribute, carry on: the ultimate collection - 5037115307132 - box set, this is in the database the 3 digipacks aren't in the database, so i can contribute these as child profiles of the box set.
but what to do about the actual discs... as they have the same disc id's (and same locality) as the original box set discs, i'm assuming that i can't contribute these as new. so do i attach the existing discs to the new box set or do i not attach any discs? can you add child profiles to a set that itself is a child profile? |

In this case, you can do it locally but, because the individual discs are already part of another box set, you can't contribute them as part of the new box. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. The master database only tracks parent->child, it does not track child->parent. More than one parent should be able to point to the same child in the master database, it is only in your local that you can't do it. If I understand this right, we now have: Boxset (EAN) -> 30 child profiles (disc-id) The new set will have: Boxset (EAN) -> 3 child profiles (EAN), each pointing to 10 child profiles (disc-id) This will only work if the three digipacks each have their own EAN. pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |

| Posted: | | | | It was my understanding that you could only assigne a child profile to a single parent. If I was mistaken, then disregard that portion of my post. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I think in your collection you are correct. But for the master I don't think that it is an issue. pdf | | | Paul Francis San Juan Capistrano, CA, USA |
