I'd say yes. The Technicolor credit is simply telling you what he photographed it with.

I don't think so. A Dress Supervisor looks after the wardrobe, they wouldn't have designed it. And Rahvis is the designer who supplied the dresses. It would be like giving Armani a credit for supplying the suits for The Untouchables.

That's what i thought about Rahvis but for Hilda Collins could "Dress" mean "Costume"

Even though "Photographed in Technicolor by" is a functional equivalent to "Cinematographer", it is not listed in the chart and therefore not allowed.

I agree with North, the reference to 'Technicolor' has to do with the era this film was produced.  As for Hilda Collins, because there is someone given a credit for 'dresses', I am thinking she was in charge of those dresses.

"Dress" could mean "Costume". But the rules tell us to go by label and not by function, therefore no credit.

I don't do this for your or my amusement. I do it to show that the rules do not work well in this regard.
So, I guess, you agree that the rules should allow functional equivalents?

this is what i was not sure about the term "Dress" could mean "Ladies Dresses" or it could mean "All Clothing" as in to Dress someone or something

Not being particularly pedantic myself, I never really had much issue figuring out how to handle credits.  Of course I work under the theory that if we weren't meant to think, we wouldn't have been issued a brain.  I do appreciate that there are a minority of users who don't deal well without exhaustingly explicit directions.  I'm just not sympathetic enough to overhaul the rules to cater to this group.

I would guess that most of us have decided to use our brains.  "Photographed in Technicolor by" is not a functional equivalent.  It is a 'Photographed by' credit, which is in our list, that includes an advertisement for 'Technicolor'.  This was done, at the time, to entice audiences into seeing these films.

As to why you do it, unless someone has been living under a rock, we all know that the rules do not work well in this regard.  However, your continued assault on the equine who's biological functions have been permanently terminated, is beginning to annoy people...as evidenced by mdnitoil's post.

I will also admit that, in these types of threads, I have begun to skip over your posts as they no longer add anything constructive to the discussion...though there is no requirement that a post do so.  I also have to add that I don't recall this happening under the old rule, which was far more restrictive.

Edit: corrected a typo.

Yea, I can see it going either way.  Tough call that one.  Much as I love 'old Hollywood', this kind of stuff drives me nuts.
