| Posted: | | | | In most cases I would stick to the movie credits. Most of the time the studio logo at the beginning of the movie represents the theatrical release studio. But as always there are exceptions. Theatrical release studios differ per country. Sometimes the theatrical release studios (especially the local distributors) aren't even in the movie credits, but on the cover only (or at the start up of the DVD). In those cases I would agree with the cover/start up credits as source for the theatrical release studio. | | | Cor |

But what would be the main theatrical release studio? The theatrical release studio in the US? | | | Cor |

I would say if there's no theatrical release studio in the opening credits (with either an opening logo or a "xxxx Presents" credit) then we don't list one. |

It seems the most logical to me - as it gives you a clue as to which print has been used for the source, and that sometimes can be important to know. |
