| Posted: | | | | What is the correct Media Publisher to enter for those dvd titles that are distributed by Fox or Warner Bros.?
Is it MGM since they are the ones that likely published the dvd in the first place?
Or is it one of the distributors (Fox or WB) that distributed the dvd? |

| Posted: | | | | What little information I have found seems to indicate that the deals with Fox, WB and SPHE are all distribution deals. I would use MGM Home Entertainment...or the equivalent variation printed on the case. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Sony distributed some of their DVDs for a short time, until MGM struck a new distribution deal with Fox.
Warner on the other hand has never distributed any MGM titles. But they BOUGHT all MGM productions from pre-1986 (Ted Turner bought these a while back, and Warner is owned by a Turner company). | | | |

For completeness, the Turner/Warner deal excluded the United Artists titles owned by MGM, which is why James Bond and Woody Allen's earlier movies stayed with MGM. | | | "This movie has warped my fragile little mind." |

Also, some of those were actually released by MGM on DVD before Warner (pre-2000) obtained the rights. Some titles included Poltergeist, 2010, Brainstorm and a few others. I don't believe they were actually in print too long before they went over to Warner. I could be wrong, but I think the actual disc content was then basically just ported over from those old MGM DVD's to the Warner DVD reissues. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | You're absolutely correct, Katatonia. But on this subject regarding distributor, Warner never distributed any MGM titles, since MGM by then had lost the rights. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | You are correct, I mispoke when I included Warner in the list. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
