| Posted: | | | | Found out something intresting today. 1. profile of cast in the database is wrong. Someone added the classic cast list & the real adventures cast list together. 2. All of the crew ending credits for all the episodes are wrong. It seems a generic one was used instead.

See: Jonny's Credit Problems,End Credits for "Jonny Quest" under General info.
they have screen caps to prove their claim.
so the question is do we use the corrected info found at the website or the incorrect info on the DVD's? | | | Last edited: by Orici |

| Posted: | | | | Unfortunately, I would say DVDs per the rules because that is what is on the screen.
Personally, and I don't have this title, I would use the correct credits locally and lock it. | | | Schultzy - http://www.michaelschultz.net grenactics - The art of skillfully fraggin one’s opponent with the use of grenades or other compact explosive devices that are thrown by hand or projected. | | | Last edited: by schultzy |

| Posted: | | | | A similar problem came up on an episode of From the Earth to the Moon. The credits from another episode were repeated on an unrelated episode. It was effectively a DVD mastering error as a previous release had it right. The end result here was that we had to keep the crappy data and those of us who actually wanted to know the correct people in that episode locked it locally.
Now that I think about it, the screeners might have overruled that particular case because of the evidence from the previous release. Generally speaking though, the online is stuck with what's on the disk. | | | Last edited: by mdnitoil |

| Posted: | | | | I've got a TV series that has the different episode (one from another season) in place of the package said was there. The episode titles were similar, and I guess the people in the "DVD Publishing" house just got confused.
I think the credits for the CORRECT episode (or the CORRECT credits) should be the ones we include in the profile -- and very specifically spell this out in the contribution notes. Otherwise, the whole concept of linking actors/crew to the programs they are in don't make sense -- and we won't be able to depend upon our databases as a tool. To me it's more important that the profile match what is on the DVD, not what the labels and covers SAY is on the DVD.
I believe in the prior discussions, Ken and/or Gerry said that the correct data could be used because the error was as mdnitoil says "a DVD mastering error." | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? | Posted: | | | | The same thing happened with the Second Season: Vol 1 release of Gunsmoke. The first disc contained an episode from Season Four that had a similar name. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |
