There still seems to be a problem with Profiles being contributed to the UK region that are not UK disc's what should you do when you find one of these, should you just contribute it for deletion or should you first contribute it to the correct region and then delete the UK one.

Deletion.

There are enough localities throughout the DVDP world for the user's to submit under their own locality. I have found in the past a lot "Dump" their submission into our locality when they can't get their profiles approved for their own.

Steve.

ps: O.T. slightly the number of noobs that are supplying submissions without proper documentation of late. Another bugbear.

If I find an obvious one, I'll submit it to the correct locality and ask for the UK one to be deleted.
I still wish that Profiler wouldn't select a default locality when creating a new profile - that probably accounts for quite a few of them!

I've noticed this as well alot recently and as I spot them I add them to an ordered list and will go back to them at some point and go through them and either ask for it t be moved to the correct locality or have it deleted.

When localities were introduced into DVD Profiler (waaaaay back when  ), a conversion was made by Intervocative. As a result, a lot of profiles were incorrectly converted to locality UK.

Over a year ago, this thread was started: Click, but I have no idea how many profiles were flagged for deletion.

I also noticed that a lot of items that were deleted from the database, have reappeared with v3.5. I already mailed Ken about this, and he said he was trying to retrace those contributions and delete them again. Otherwise I would have to re-recontribute about 1500 profiles...

As you rightly point out a thread was started a year ago, I was one of the UK user who participated in the exercise, each time I came across a profile that should have been in one of the UK's near neighbours in Europe I PM'd the people reposible for making those contributions explaining the errors of the submissions and in 99% of the case I was told to F&*% $£F it was nothing to do with me or anybody in the UK which locality they wanted contribute to. Even when it was pointed out quite plainly and politely that "The UK only has English as an Overview" or "UK doesn't use Euro's / Lira / Francs / insert currancy here" and with kind of abuse I simply informed the others that where also participating that I would no longer be doing any.

But as you say the are again re-emerging, and again despite polite requests, nothing is being done by the submitter.
