| Posted: | | | | First, my apology since this must have been asked elsewhere, but I can't find the answer amongst all the other posts on 3.5.
Anyway, my question is whether I will lose my custom layout on upgrade to 3.5. I have spent ages tweaking this layout and customising the menus and toolbars, and would like to avoid having to redo all that from scratch. |

| Posted: | | | | I will admit I'm no expert, but it shouldn't have any serious effects. Just make sure you've saved it properly and backed it up elsewhere just in case. But 3.5 should have no problems using a layout created in 3.1 |

| Posted: | | | | My layout did not change when I upgraded. You will probably be ok also. Make sure to save the layout with a unique name, not one of the Invelos default names. That way the install will not overwrite it. If for some strange reason the new version opens with the default layout, simply load your personalized previously saved layout. | | | Kevin |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks for the reassurance. I have now updated and as you advised the custom layout and settings have been retained. |

Would you contribute that 'custom layout' to Invelos for others to enjoy?? ... | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. But all real credit is due to the starting layout taken from ArnoDVD as per the note included in my upload. My version just tweaks this around for my high res 24" monitor, adding as much info on a single screen as seemed aesthetically appropriate, getting the window sizes and sub-menus just right (for me) and then adding a few buttons for the functions and sort lists I use myself most often. It doesn't have any fancy links to embedded media, etc. |
