or Bahasi, place in Nepal? Hmm, I don't know. It appears spelled that way on the back of a DVD (and set-up menu) I'm editing for the subtitles, and was released by MGM in Hong Kong (text is in English). I haven't encountered Bahasi in subtitles before, but have for Bahasa several times before. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

or Bahasi, place in Nepal? AFAIK, "Bahasa" is usually short for Bahasa Indonesia, i.e. the Indonesian variant of Malay. Indonesia needs some sort of common language, as its over 200 million inhabitants speak over 300 local (native) languages. |

It shows up as Indonesian (in) when the disc is opened in IFOedit. In PowerDVD it reads simply IndonesianExamples of what the subtitle shows in the film are: "Apakah kau aku?" and "Jaga buku itu!" | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

The tagging on the disc or the menu can be wrong as well. But usually the DVD menu is fine. While I have seen several audio tracks which had been tagged wrong so that the player menu would be wrong. |

| Posted: | | | | As this is about a Hong Kong release, I'm rather confident that in this case Bahasa refers to Indonesian, because in SE Asia "Bahasa Indonesia", the official name of the language, is often abbreviated to Bahasa. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |
