| Posted: | | | | I'm entering in the Canadian edition of the film Eyes of a Stranger (the U.S. version is in the system under UPC 012569-827912). Everything looks good, I've verified everything and double-checked everything that needs double-checking.
I've run across a credit in the film's credits that I'm unsure of how to handle.
There's a credit listed as:
Special Makeup - Dean Gates
The film already has listings for Makeup Artist (Carlos Gomeri) and Special Makeup Effects (Tom Savini) which I've entered accordingly under Make-Up Artist and Make-Up Effects.
Where the heck should Dean Gates go? Should he be listed under Make-Up Effects or Make-Up Artist, or left out? For Make-Up Effects the rules state Make-Up Effects, Special Make-Up Effects [by] and Make-Up Artist lists a whole crap load, but none just as Special Makeup. I doubt Special Makeup would be seen as the actual makeup artist (and one's already listed), but the credit doesn't have a listing for "effects" either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

| Posted: | | | | If I interpret the rules correctly, he would get a Make-Up Effects credit. I don't see any invalid roles listed in the rules. Maybe someone from the rules commitee can provide a definitive answer. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | that discussion is still ongoing, very slowly and not many are interested in these credits, related to the credits was this credit before Make-Up Artist or Special Makeup Effects, was it biger in display then those 2. If not I would leave him out, if you in to following these credits, you could park this credit in the Special Make-Up Effects in the other section, so you would have it in your profile and can be taken care of in future. And you could join the "Contribution Rules Committee" Discuss and formulate the rules that help shape DVD Profiler's online database. Access by request. this can be done here: Contact Us found at the bottom of every forumpage. | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. The specific credit was after both Make-Up Artist and Special Make-Up Effects, and was displayed no differently than the two of them (all three were just listed in the rolling credits at the end of the film). For the moment, I submitted the DVD without the credit, figuring it was the safest way until a solid answer was set, and it can always be added later (I think I'll add the credit to custom roles just to remind myself when and if that time comes). I was thinking about requesting access to Rules Committee but wasn't really sure how it worked. I've only been here for a couple of months at this point and wasn't sure anyone would want to hear what I have to say! | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

| Posted: | | | | I have another one in this category.
Hair Supervisor, is this valid for Make-Up artist. For costumes, I noticed Costume Supervisor was allowed, but Hair Supervisor isn't explicitly listed. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | would not be valid, if you look at the list: Quote: Chief Makeup Artist, Department Head, Make-Up Artist, Head Make-Up Artist, Key Make-Up, Key Make-Up Artist, Key Makeup Artist & Hairstylist, Lead Makeup Artist, Make-up, Makeup and Hair Designer, Makeup Artist, Make-Up Designer, Makeup Artist & Hair to [Cast Name], Makeup for [Cast Name] it is Make-Up and the combination of Hair Designer or Hairstylist, not the solo hair crew. If you want to track this Hair Supervisor or other Hair crew put them in the other in the Make-up section (these stay local) | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted.
