Is it possible to make a filtering system where we can pick and choose which DVDs we would like to hide from our public collection?  It seems right now like an all or nothing situation when it comes to hiding, and I'd to show people most of my DVDs.

Right now, the only way to "hide" titles in your online collection, would be to uncheck "Adult" in your online settings and change the genre or rating of the titles you wish to hide to "Adult". In DVD Profiler settings under Parental Control select "Hide Adult Titles in Online Listing". Problem here is that you need to make sure that you don't contribute these genre changes to the online DB. Either that, or create a second database with the titles you don't want to be public.

Just a note: unchecking "adult" in your online settings may hide more titles than you want, as some of the ratings on DVD profiles are classed as "adult" by the online system and we can't override that.
I think that having two databases, one used just for your online titles, is probably the better way to go.

Good point North. I forgot about the problem with those pesky rated 18 titles .

I have films that I'd rather keep publically hidden that are not strictly adult (Cheesy exploitation films from the 60s/70s, etc) so I would really like some sort of hide functionality.  I would rather have a way to add a "hide" flag at the profile level than maintain 2 databases.

Me too. I can't speak for Max, but I do like this idea, I just thought the OP would like a workaround they could use until we get a better way of doing it.

Back to the OP:  I agree that it would be useful to have some user-selectable way to "hide" titles from your public collection without resorting to artificially calling them "adult" or maintining two separate databases.  I can't imagine it would be that hard to code.

Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges.

However, you did get a lot of the audience for Barbed Wire shouting "Lower, lower!" at Pam's costume!
