Hello All,

I've stumbled upon an issue I can't seem to wrap my head around, so I come to you and your infinite wisdom, about that subject (Laying it too thick ?)

I'm just starting to look into my BR profiles and noticed my Spider-man 3 BR although with French locality was written in Italian (extra features and cover art - no overview present) UPC for that profile is 8-013123-026316. Also, it is a 2 disc version whereas mine only as one.
My BR could be a Belgium release since there are the Belgium and the French ratings on the cover but it is written in French.

So for starters, I contributed the existing French profile with a changed locality to Italy. An Italian profile is not currently present in the DB and I know enough Italian to know it is not French (but seriously to know it is Italian) and the UPC on the cover is correct.

I then scanned the actual covers of the BR I have and that is French only to realise there is no UPC on the covers. I believe that is because I got it with a couple of other BR (with UPCs present) with my PS3. At the space where the UPC should be it says "cannot be sold or rented" (in French obviously)

If it was a DVD, I'ld fling it in the drive and add it by disc-ID but I don't have a BR computer drive. I even gave it a try to see if my DVD Drive could at least read the disc ID. It made some weird noises and miserably failed.

I then went through the DB to see if a profile could fit (similar features) and live with it. I have come accross a French profile (3-333299-949543) but it is for the 2 disc set so the features are different. Then I found a hint of Belgium profile (8-712609-678130). It is mostly empty but what is there, seems to fit. Unfortunately, there are no cover scans so I can't check how similar it is to mine to eventualy complete the currently almost empty profile. Also I presume that my cover scans without UPC will be rightfully declined by screeners, if I update the profile with my scans.

So YES I know I can modify it locally, have it live in my computer and never contribute but that BR being vastly owned by PS3 owners in France, I was wondering IF there was a way to had it to the DB for my fellow French Profilers and yet not encounter the wrath of Skip or other local delights.

Thanks for your suggestions,
Julien

There is no other way I know of to add to the main database.  You need either UPC or Disc ID. So at least till someone can read the disc ID I believe it will have to be local only.

Until version 3.5 (now in beta) is released we can't add BD and HD profiles via Disc ID.

I've got several i'm holding locally until we can submit profiles with v3.5.  The beta version will allow you to add Disc IDs to the profiles but they can't be uploaded yet.

The capability is coming.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Ok I understand there is a software "limitation" but on my part there is a hardware shortcoming.
I do not have a BR drive to read/assign the disc-id (when the software allows it) I only have a player (PS3) in my living room.

Then unfortunately you'll need to wait until someone who also has that release submits it after 3.5 submissions are activated.
