I would like to see a way to select movie or sort movies on the fly by selecting a letter from the alphabet.  For example choose the letter “B” and your list quickly filters to all movies titled with the letter “B.”

See sample below.  The alphabet tool could pop up below as shown in my fictitious representation or from the left or right side.  It would disappear once a selection is made and appear when you move to edge of screen or hover at a predetermined location or click at a location ect.

I understand it sort of happens all ready when you type in a name up top.  Just looking for an option at bottom as well or closer to where the images show up.

The benifit for this would be more obvious when you pull out the collections list window.

Since you can put the various windows anywhere you like, I'm not sure what part of the program you mean when you're referencing "up top."

That said, what you want to do is already there. Not the exact design you had in mind, but most of the functionality.

The general tab of the filters window (which I think is the default tab, if not you can make it that) has a Title: search window. Just type in the letter B there and it will instantly sort your list to show only titles beginning with B.

If you don't have the filters window at the bottom, close to where the images show up, you can just drag it there and you should have an approximation of what you want. At least in terms of location and functionality, if not visually.

completely agreed with Astrakan, filter on title: functionality is there.
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

Agreed with Giga and Astrakan
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

x: There is a "Search by Title" field in the toolbar, atleast in my toolbar.

He knows that the search functionality already is there in DVDP AND that he wanted additional ways to access the search possibilities by clicking a "letter" in a list instead of typing it (the FR). I like it!

Glad some one understood,, I was beginning to think I was speaking a forign language lol.

Yeah as I said the filters that are available above the window for the collections list is there but if yoiu pull your collection window out you do not have a means to filter through the list unless you go back to the filter window.  Just suggesting another potential approach to make that process a little esayer.
