| Posted: | | | | Hi. New user here and I couldn't find anything about this in search, so here goes - I have my current DVD collection organized using the Movie Collector app I bought years ago. I'm looking to make the switch to DVD Profiler because it looks cleaner and has more options. Is there any way to import my Movie Collector database into DVD Profiler? Movie Collector uses a .mvc extension for its database.
If it can't, is there any way I can utilize the database to make switching to this one easier?
Any help is appreciated, thanks! |

| Posted: | | | | Unfortunately Profiler is only able to import it's own kind of backup file natively. However I don't know whether it'll be of any use for you, but there is a plugin called UPC Import which will take a text list of barcode numbers and semi-automate their addition to your database. I don't know if Movie Collector held that kind of info or not, or whether you'd be able to create the list necessary, but you can find more info on the plugin here. |

And from what I can tell, so far and at work, that option should do the trick, or at least make it faster than the alternative. Cool. |

| Posted: | | | | Glad to hear it will help - just remember that adding 50 titles will put the program into limited mode, so if you want to have a play make sure you don't go over that, at least until you've had a good play with the software. |
