| Posted: | | | | Hi All, As title.I used to use my barcode scanner without issue on my old PC but now I have a new pc and Windows vista, I cannot get the reader to work with profiler. I know the scanner works as I have been scanning codes from the user manual without issue. Is there something I am not doing here?I have set the barcode scanner to read as a qwerty keyboard and the barcode setting for ean 128. I am using a ps2 to usb connector as my new pc only accepts usb. Can anyone help? It is so frustrating!!! Thanks loads, Adam |

| Posted: | | | | do you use the scanner with a PS2 keyboard over a PS2/USB converter?does the keyboard function over the PS2/USB converter?when you open a basic text editor, do you get any simulated keyboard output from your scanner? | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. | Posted: | | | | Hi There, I have only connected the scanner to the keyboard input of the of the ps2/usb converter - I use a seperate usb for a wireless keyboard and mouse I have connected a ps2 keyboard to the converter and this works fine I opened wordpad - scanned a barcode, got a beep from the scanner as though it had registered but no text came up.
Does that help at all? Thanks for taking the time to help me on this! Ad |

| Posted: | | | | I think on your old computer, the scanner was connected with a cable to the PS2 keyboard port and the PS2 keyboard connected on the PS2 scanner cable. In that case you should try with the PS2 scanner and PS2 keyboard connected in the same manner on the PS2/USB adaptor. And don't have the USB keyboard connected, I think this one overrules the PS2 on usb adaptor.
See page 14 of the installation manual for the ScanPlus 1800 | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. | | | Last edited: by ? |

| Posted: | | | | If its a keyboard wedge scanner, ie the scanner plug has a y at the end with one end being a male connection and the other female you most likely need to have a keyboard on the other side of the scanner in order for it to recognize it.
Having a second usb keyboard shouldn't affect it
