| Posted: | | | | If the scanner gives output like a keyboard, plain text, you can use it to read the barcode into the program. If you want to scan multiple DVDs you could commpile a file usiong the scanner and use this plugin: Import UPC List /Jimmie | | | Last edited: by jhagblad |

/Jimmie Did you follow these steps for Installation? Install StepsDownload ImportUPC.zip (23KB) and unpack it into a dedicated folder. Close DVD Profiler 3. Double-click the file install.cmd to register the plugin. The next time you start DVD Profiler 3, the new Import UPC List command will appear on the Tools menu. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

/Jimmie If you want to scan multiple DVDs the easiest way is to just uncheck 'Prompt for personalization' on the bottom of the Add DVDs screen then just scan away. You'd just have to make any personalization (purchase place/date etc) after you add them all but you'd have to do that with the UPC Import plugin anyway. I'd still watch the screen between each just in case it comes up with multiple matches (same upc different locality). But there is no real need to go using another plugin for this. -Agrare |

The install.cmd may not work on Windows Vista. In this case, open a command prompt as administrator, switch to the folder containing the unzipped files, and type regsvr32 ImportUPC.dll to register the plugin. Nobody ever reads those ReadMe files, or the first post of the forum thread for this plugin... | | | Matthias |

Then it's your permissions. You probably don't have full admin rights to write to the directory that the plugin needs to install to. Actually, the admin rights are only needed to create the necessary entries in the Windows registry. No file copying takes place during the install. @laurentpuerta if you get the same error code, you didn't do it as administrator. The workaround has been proven successful by those few who used my plugins on Vista. | | | Matthias |

| Posted: | | | | It's possible that the DVDs you've imported aren't in the database yet. What are the UPC numbers so we can check? Also, did you remember to set your locality for the DVDs? |
