| Posted: | | | | Hello, Recently I've been adding a few DVDs to my collection and came out with an idea that I don't know if it is possible in Profiler. I sometimes buy DVDs from different countries. As it happens in most cases, the same title is already created, but in a different location. So, the question is: Is it possible to contribute a DVD, using as base another one, only changing its' UPC and other specific information? I didn' t find a way, but is there one? Regards! |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure if it's what you mean but it's possible to download a profile, change the UPC and/or locality and submit it as a new profile. The two main identifiers for a profile are UPC and locality. DVDs with the same locality can't have the same UPC and DVDs with the same UPC can't have the same locality. As soon as you change one of these identifiers in a profile it breaks the connection with the online profile and becomes a new profile. As long as this new profile doesn't already have an online partner, you can submit as a new profile. The options to change one or both are at the bottom of the DVD drop-down menu. Just pick a profile that matches your DVD best, download it, then change these options to create a new profile. Double check that all the info matches your DVD and submit it. |

| Posted: | | | | Here's an extensive guide on how to use an existing profile as the basis for a new one. And by the way: welcome to the DVDP community! | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks. The explanation from northbloke was clear enough but that description you sent is great. I was doing that already, but a checklist always comes in handy. Quote: And by the way: welcome to the DVDP community! Thank you, but in fact i'm a member of the community for quite some time. However I don't post much... I have my share of contributions but until now I made them all manually, even when introducing profiles common to other countries'. Now with the help of both of you it'll ease the process quite a lot, so I'm sure I'll accelerate the contributions very soon. Thanks a lot. |

Also, it might help to review the contribution notes of the source profile to ensure that there has been sufficient documentation to support the material in the profile. |
