| Posted: | | | | I believe I just read a spoiler in another thread. Not a real big deal in this case (or is it... not sure till I see the movie) but still something that would have been better not knowing before hand. Can we please have a spolier tag added to the forum. IMO It would help a lot in encouraging discussion of movies. There is a Batman thread I have avoided since I haven't seen the movie. Thankfully the title of the thread includes a spoiler alert so I knew to avoid it (thanks to the OP). It would have been nice however to read some of the discussion about the movie in general without having to worry about someone ruining something for me. Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | As the author of the Batman thread, I'm glad that the spoiler warning i put up worked. I think this would be a great addition! | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... |

| Posted: | | | | A spoiler tag would be great! I use it on another forum I frequent...although it's more of an "easter egg feature" there and not really documented, since you have to type in the tags manually. | | | Corey |

Thanks Would be good if we have that here, but it will only work if people posting spoilers would really use it. | | | Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer. |

| Posted: | | | | I have no problem with discussions which include spoilers. I mean, most of us knew how the middle of "Psycho" turns, and no matter how many times you read "Moby Dick" Ahab dies. Neither kills the greatness of the work nor the joy of viewing/reading.
But, most people either hate spoilers or prefer to be warned if a thread (or even a post) contains a spoiler... even well after the DVDs are released.
So while I could not care less about randomly encountering a massive spoiler, it might be a great idea if this forum included a "sanctioned" spoiler tag. (I'd most likely put it on every other post I make.)
Even better, if somehow a "spoiler" mode could be used -- much like we can quickly highlight a section and convert that section into bold, italic, underline, etc. -- to convert the text into whichever background color the individual post will be... like Daddy DVD's post above (only more accurately in the correct color). Thus all spoilers will be invisible unless highlighted.
Yeah, that would be cool. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | Surprisingly different reaction to this request than the last time it was brought up. Then a lot of nay-sayers showed up and questioned the use of a spoiler tag: As to when to use it and when to stop using it. As a guideline I would say, from the point something has been released on DVD you can stop using spoiler tags. This would allow us to discuss current movies at the cinema with the help of spoiler tags but we won't have to overuse them. Also I am currently staying away from the Dark Knight thread even though I would like to know the general reaction to the movie from the forum members here. But I probably will only see the movie in the second half of September at the soonest (It will be released end of August here in Germany, but some of the people I wanted to go with are on vacation at that time). | | |
