I saw that my database is in the DVD Profiler folder. So if i format my HDD and keep that folder, it means that it will remain intact and I can use it next time I install the program? And all the pictures I added for actors and crew are saved in this folder, or in another place? Or they'll be lost and I have to put them again. Thanks

If you keep that folder, your data is (fairly) save.

But I would still recommend that you make a backup of your collection via the built-in backup feature. Better safe than sorry!

What about the pictures off cast and crew I added manually. Are they in this folder? or will be lost?

those pictures are in the database itself... so if I am not mistaken... if you don't do a back-up with the built-in back-up feature you will loose those photos.

I can see this is going to lead to tears.

The database could have been moved to another directory.
And he could be thinking the database is in the dvd profiler directory in Program files (if that is where he installed it,)

The only safe option is to back up the database to a place you know - and then keep that file safe.

The backup ( .dpb) should be kept on another medium i.e Separate Hard drive or a 1 GB memory stick., and the neat thing about the pictures of the cast and crew,., is if you made a change to one of them and then did a restore back Invelos will 'stop and ask you'  if want the new photo or the older dated one from the backup..

Only 1 GB memory stick? That wouldn't even come close to holding my backup file .

Just checked and my backup file is 1.3 GB. Not as bad as I thought .
