Hi, this is my first post here.
It's just been a couple of weeks since I decided to start using DVDProfiler, and I bought the «Unlimited» license.

Last night, I was adding a DVD by UPC that had just arrived in the mail, Cloverfield Special Edition (Steelbook) (Norway) but it didnt excist in the db (UPC: 7332431029996). The Disc ID for the Main Feature is the same as the standard edition in Norway. My edition includes a second disc with Special Features.

So I added by UPC, and started to fill out accordingly using the Contribution Rules and this forum to learn what goes where, etc. I'm gonna contribute this release tonight (after work), as complete as possible.

I just have one question: Is it possible to copy Cast and Crew from another release (I have the release with the same DiscID in mind) and what would be the best procedure here? I will ofcourse validate (and update/add) the information based on the end credits in the movie.

Thank you in advance.

PS! If this information is already available on the forums or some other place, or I should have posted this in another category, please let me know. I did try a few searches (most of them timing out though) with no luck, so please provide me the link if there's a thread about this. Thanks again. Have a nice day!

Regards,
John Richard

First, welcome.  It is always nice to see a new contributor.

Second, simply download the profile for the disc ID.  Open it up in edit mode.  Right click on the cast and select, copy all cast.  Close that profile and open the UPC version.  Right click on the cast section and select paste all cast.  Do the same for crew.

Once you have done that, simply delete the extra profile.

Yes it is, John. All you have to do is pick a version and download it, make all the necessary changes which are relevant to your version, such as UPC/EAN, case, locality, SRP data etc., and as you mentioned verify it against the film credits.

Thank you both for quick answers and the warm welcome!

Was really easy when you know how.  I just never tried to right-click random cast/crew-member

Going to scan the cover at work, and do a last validation of the content/credits, before sending it in (that's tonight, so don't wait up  )

Edit: Contributed, and released: UPC#7332431029996

I just made this exact post in another thread, but it's relevant here too, so...

I see you've already got it sorted, so this is more for posterity than anything, but here's a useful Wiki entry:
