Hi guys, first time here so be gentle

Wondering if there is any way to add a new genre (say for keeping burns as a separate group) for insurance purposes.

Still early days for me as I'm still busy entering movies at the moment so any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Hawky

No. But you can use the Tag feature. Create a tag called Burns and tag all your burned DVDs. This way you can filter by this tag and also sort by it.

Put your toes up here so I can nibble on them, i won't bite hard.

You cannot add genre to the genre list of profiler. If you want to Contribute genre data or anything else, for that matter be SURE and read the Rules first.

BUT you can add Genre through the Tag data, this personal data which is not contributed and you can add as much there as you desire. The Tags are also searchable and hierarchial.

Welcome to the forums, Hawky!

You can't add additional genres to the program itself, however there's another way to accomplish what you want to do, and that is to use Tags to mark the entries you would like to group together.

Through Tools / Edit Tags you can create the tags you would like to use.

By flagging individual DVDs, you can then choose the DVDs you would like to apply them to. Next, go to Collection / Flagged / Edit Tags to do so.

Good luck!

reading your post quickly I thought you meant the Burns charactor from the Simpsons..
