| Posted: | | | | I believe there to be a problem with one of the “Shrek 3D” entries in the database. I just purchased Shrek 3D with disc ID “E8AC0F153BDB1D3D”. This profile is in the database under the disc ID because there is no UPC code shown anywhere on the package. There is also another entry in the database for “Shrek 3-D: DTS” with a UPC code of 667068917116. The data in this entry shows some conflicts. - There is no UPC code visible on the cover scans. In fact the cover scans are identical to the entry done by disc ID. - Aspect ratio is stated as 2.35:1 but the cover scan shown stated 2.20:1 (and the disc I have shows it to be 2.20:1) - Audio stated is DTS 5.1 but the cover scan shown states “5.1 Dolby Digital Surround” I did notice the number 91711 on the spine my DVD case. I believe this entry should be removed since it has too many inconsistencies with the cover scans provided. How does one report a problem like this? |

| Posted: | | | | This is actually a common problem. Covers are notorious for having incorrect data. That is why the following section, bold added by me, is in the rules: Quote: The authoritative source for information submitted should be the DVD itself. Please don't submit content from a third party database, and always verify the specifications printed on the cover. In both cases, errors abound, so always verify the information directly from the DVD whenever possible. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | As Unicus said, information on covers can not be trusted. DVD Profiler contains some fields for which the information should always be verified using specific software tools. These include: 1. Running Time 2. Video Format (including aspect ratio) 3. Audio Tracks 4. Region coding 5. Layer info (single or double layer disc). 1-3 can be verified using a software DVD player, e.g. PowerDVD. 4-5 can be verified using a dedicated tool like DVDInfoPro. However, in the case you described the problem could also be that the wrong cover scans were submitted for the UPC-based profile. Usually the back cover scan should show the UPC (although there are exceptions, e.g. box sets with the UPC printed on the side of the box). | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

DVDInfoPro can only be used for 14 days: Quote: A 14-day trial version is available. The registered version does not expire. It is available at any time with a low cost fee. So instead you could download this tool from Nero: Nero InfoTool: provides information about the most important features of installed drives, inserted discs, installed software, and much more. | Posted: | | | | My big question is why is there no UPC/EAN? Was it part of a set? Other than that as noted cases are wrong, tools are useful to resolce such issues as to what is actually on the disc. The ones mentioned are good, as is DVD Decrypter, PowerDVD and any number of similar tools.

It came in it's own case, but you could not purchase it as a atand alone title. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
