| Posted: | | | | Up until version 1.2, I had an issue when I fast forwarded a movie, it resulted in a cracking sound send through the HDMI to the amplifier. It sounded like a short circuit.
Upon first quick testing (only tested 2 discs), I didn't have the issue, so far...
Now if they only would change the white side bars with 4:3 content to black, because the white is too distracting. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I might have expressed my self wrong. It doesn't make the player region free. All regions got a firmware update. Although some claim the SD-DVD side can be made region free by sending a code to the device using a special remote or a pc with an infrared port. I read the same code is valid for all panasonic DVD-players. You can find more info hereand hereI haven't tested it myself, so I can't guarantee the code will work. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I wish Panasonic would handle these updates like Toshiba did with my A35. With them I got a notice and in two cases, a CD-ROM with the update was sent to me NO CHARGE without my even asking for it! With panasonic no such customer service. I'm at ver. 1.6 here in the US. I guess I missed the last update. They really should do something about notifying their customers, jerks! |

I just tried the US firmware, download is already at 30%, so it's working fine. For some odd reason, this download doesn't seem to work with Foxfire. I used IE and had no problem. | | | Hal |
