| Posted: | | | | Hello guys! This is my first post here, so I hope I wont ask something common... what kind of case is that? It's not a classic digipak... so I'd choose "custom with slip cover" for parent profile, and "custom" for child profiles... does anyone agree? Thanks, Micio | | | Micio "-Oh my God, I found a penny" "-You bastard!!!" |

| Posted: | | | | Under the current cover options I'd say that case would fall into the Digipak, though I think this might be the case type (Digibook) referred to in the information Skip posted (and pointed out the 'new' name') on the upcoming 'How the West Was Won' release hereHowever, I would say in this case that Digipack is acceptable for the child profiles (though I don't think a custom would be totally wrong. However, I believe the parent should be a Slip Case. -Agrare |

Parent: Digipak in Slip Cover Children: Digipak
IIRC the Case Types post actually used to have a Digibook picture and said that it counted as a Digipak for DVDP purposes but it appears that this image has been removed or was only on the Intervocative version of the post. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong | | | Last edited: by Voltaire53 |

| Posted: | | | | It's definitely not a digibook; this refers to the Bonnie & Clyde-style packaging, it's a book with a digipak-tray panel inside. This Alien example is just a digipack with panels that are bound at the spine instead of glued flat onto a cardboard panel; I have a few dozen of them, and they are all in the DB as Martin described, digipak + slipcover for the parent, digipak for the children. Lots of Warner's TV output has this, for example. |

I wasn't (and am still not) familiar with a digibook (and am not picturing it from the description you gave) so since this had a book like appearance, i figured it may be referring to a case like this. After looking at profiles in my collection and reviewing the cover image thread and the slip cases and slip cover thread, I retract my statement that the parent is a Slip Case and agree it should be Digipak with Slip Cover. While I had been clear on the difference, due to my momentary lapse of clarity, I now see how the Slip Case vs Slip Cover causes confusion for some. I am however once again clear on the difference. -Agrare |

| Posted: | | | | Bonnie and Clyde is currently entered as "custom" in the database (at least the HD DVD is). Should this be changed to digipak? It looks like this: | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | Slipcover and slipcase are definitely confusing! This digibook, were it to be available as a choice, would probably enhance that! Quoting Patsa: Quote: Bonnie and Clyde is currently entered as "custom" in the database (at least the HD DVD is). Should this be changed to digipak? I'd say custom is right. I haven't actually opened my Bonnie & Clyde yet, but it's more like a book than it is a case. |

It's a new cover called Digi-Book which we don't have listed yet. Custom is appropriate...for now. My question is why is this a question? Look at it, Patsa, does it look like a Digi-Pak...NO...does it look like and Envelope, Keep Case, Snapper or any other cover we have currently listed?....NO it doesn't. Hmmmm then it must be a Custom, currently Bonnie & clyde is the only such title that has been released, of which I am aware, however the recently announced How the West Was Won will alos be released in a Digi-Book for BD which will also be Custom, until we get a new cover added.

| Posted: | | | | Skip: It looks like a digipak, except for the integrated pages on the "book" side, the side that holds the disc looks exactly the same as many digipaks. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | You said it right, Patsa. "book".
We have no such listing yet, and courtesy of HTWWW announcement the name of it is now known, not that helps US much right now. It's STILL a custom, and we have to wait for the digi-Book which i would say will take more than TWO titles to add. It looks like no "normal" digi-pak released to date.

| Posted: | | | | These jackets look similiar to the Legacy series from Universal which brought us To Kill A Mockinbird, The Sting, Deer Hunter and Double Indemnity.. ( did I miss any? ) ... Soft cover , opens like a book and digipack insert . I believe these are all listed, and approved as Clamshell. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Go look at a clamshell, this title does not seal shut because it is designed like a BOOK. If it helps you to understand the Clamshell concept think of the Old Disney plastic VHS cases, those are clamshells.

| Posted: | | | | Just looked,, The Mockingbird cover is a fold over top jacket so it is a digipack not a clam,, the others all snap shut on top of the digipack edges like a clam.. Don't know about the B/C set as I haven't ordered or looked at one yet. But am lookling forward to this new design called a digibook.. I can see how the cover opens and displays numerous pages of a book on the left side of the case where the right side holds the disc and then..... snaps shut? or just closes.?. Does it have slip cover too? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
