Personally I wouldn't, for the reasons explained in previous threads.

I do not contribute them to the online anymore (In fact I'm contributing cast & crew less and less), but I am still adding them to my local database.

If they were credited with an actual DVDP role, then yea, I would probably contribute them.  For me, a credit of  'Art Director' = 'Art Director'...'Director of Photography' = 'Director of Photography', etc.  It doesn't matter where they are listed in the credits.

However,  a credit of '2nd Unit Art Director' does not equal 'Art Director'...'2nd Unit Director of Photography' does not equal 'Director of Photography'.

Am I walking a fine line?  Perhaps, but that line is based on the actual credit...not where the person is credited.

A credit of:

New York Unit
John Doe    Art Director

is not the same as a credit for the Art Director of the film.

I don't care how you argue it, they do not deserve the same credit.  They did not do the same job!

At least my argument is based on the actual credit given.  Your's is based on an assumption because you have no idea what the Art Director in New York did.

Personally, no. Because it would no longer be clear who was the principal art director etc. which means we're yet again downgrading the database to a useless mess.

I know that he was not given the credit by the producers for the "film's" Art Direction.  That's not an assumption.

That's all I need to know.

Well then, I guess that settles that.

Whew, glad we got that settled!    (not too bad with the sarcasm yourself, there, Unicus)
