| Posted: | | | | I've just submitted a change to a profile to make the common name of this writer/actor Al Hunter Ashton even though the CLT gives Al Ashton the lead. And I thought I'd better post something here too, so people can look at the evidence and verify my findings or prove them wrong. I don't have access to all the titles mentioned so I had to verify a lot of these credits using 3rd party databases (you know the ones...)
I went through all the entries for all his names: Al Ashton, Al Hunter Ashton, Al Hunter and Al Hunter-Ashton. Comparing the results to the databases and combining all the foreign name variants I got this list:
Al Ashton A Fish Called Wanda - confirmed Wire In The Blood Chef Inspector Morse - confirmed
Al Hunter Ashton Treasure Island Mr Bean - confirmed Gladiator - confirmed Jekyll - confirmed From Hell - confirmed 10th Kingdom - confirmed Ever After - confirmed The Killing Kind (Killing Angel, A Murder Ballad) The Wedding Tackle
Al Hunter Tales From The Crypt Jing: King of Bandits The Firm (writer)
Al Hunter-Ashton The Brittas Empire Urban Gothic - confirmed
Now the CLT gives the results Al Ashton (74/215) and Al Hunter Ashton (31/103) but in this case I don't think we can go by these results as I know that at least all the Al Ashton in Gladiator profiles are wrong, and there's a lot of them! | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | I see nothing that supports Al Hunter Ashton=Al Hunter=Al Ashton. I see a major assumption based on the CLT. I would vote No without more documentation.

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Behemot. Ideally I'd like 10th Kingdom and Ever After confirmed too as after Gladiator they have the greatest number of profiles. |

Common name is still Al Hunter Ashton, though. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, but the other one is more complete... If there is more than one common name thread for a person, I only list the better one in my list of common namee threads (if there were mutually exclusive confirmations, I brought the threads up while collecting them): in this case it was Pantheon's, though it isn't maintained anymore either | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |
