End credits do not use capitals on roles. Actors use all capitals.

ROBERT REDFORD professor stephen malley

Do I capitalize Professor Stephen Malley?

"Exception: If the credit information is entirely capitalized, use standard capitalization rules instead." 
Is the reverse also true? I assume not but I want to be sure.

While this is not explicitly written in the rules, I would handle all lower case the same way as all upper case.
