| Posted: | | | | Hi all. Finally got around to getting a proper subscription yesterday as this is such a great way to deal with collections and the community in general so far seems very helpful. I apologize in advance for my question as i have no doubt that it has been asked before, but top honest i find the search function, not that easy/intuative to use.
Anyway, what i would like to know am i able to ADD to the database some of my new HD Title collections (Australia), which are not in the database, with only say the name of the Movie, the UPCs/EANs and Cover Art. Then come back over time, say the next week or 2 and add in the rest i.e. credits, specs etc.
I ask this mainly due to the large sales we have had in Aus and probably most other countries and not alot of the HD Movies are added as of yet.
PS I am reading through FAQ now, but just wanted a quck clarification on this.
Cheers |

| Posted: | | | | Technically it's possible, the question is, would Gerry accept Profiles with only a cover and a name. | | | Deutsches DVD Profiler Forum: www.dvdprofiler-forum.de |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks heaps for the replies guys/girls. I've even got a few in my online profile now that either only have a picture/title or has the details with out the picture. That's all based on using UPC codes also.
I do then have the full intention of coming back to each title and adding any region specific information, as quite a few of the titles (on HD-DVD/Blu-ray) are the same specs from other regions or i'll just do them from scratch which is probably the best idea.
I so far have a total of 147 Hi-Def titles, but with only 97 in my profile and would love to fix that, plus then others get the beneifit of it also, as i know some of you O/S guys are getting some of our titles as well.
Thanks Again |

| Posted: | | | | Last question for you guys. Just want a clarification on what is allowed with images. What i', not sure about from the FAQ is whether you should have the Case showing HD-DVD/Blu-ray on the outside of the image. From the FAQ it looks like you shouldnt though 99% of the images i have gotten from the online profile have that outside bit. Lastly on some of our cases (not sure if it's the O/S) you have a sticker saying "for use with HD-DVD players only". The last point is pretty important as it would be annoying going through the discs to take off the sticker, without stuffing the plastic underneath. THIS LINK is just a quick example to see if i'm on the right track. Depending on answers to the above i can get started striaght away. Thanks Again |

| Posted: | | | | For all images you should take the paper cover out of the case when you scan it, as the image is just the cover, not the case and you can generally get a better scan by removing the cover from under the plastic.
As far as the HD-DVD banner, this shouldn't be included. You may see some with this banner because when support for the HD formats was first added the rule to not include this banner was not there so many titles were added with it. After the rule was added the images would need to be recontributed to comply to the rules but the existing images weren't removed. So you can replace these profiles with scans that are inline with the new rules if you so desire.
that should be mostly correct, i wasn't an active forum participant when HD was added, and don't have any HD titles, so my details may be off.
