| Posted: | | | | The first 13 episodes of The Love Boat have been released and I'm wondering how people would do the cast and crew credits. Because each 50 minute episode is untitled but includes 3 story lines, each with a title. And the the only people specifically assigned to a "story" are the director and writers. All the rest of the cast/crew are identified at the episode level. For the cast, the "guest" performers are credited first (without roles named) and then the recurring/star performers who are listed as "Your Captain," "Your Ship's Doctor," "Your Yeoman Purser," "Your Bartender," and "Julie Your Cruise Director".
Using Love American Style child profiles as a model, should I do the credits as follows:
CAST CREDITS Episode Number Divider: Story 1 Divider: Story 2 Divider: Story 3 Guest Cast (roles from observing the episode or from "other" source(s)) Recurring/Star Cast (roles shown as ship job except "Julie Your Cruise Director") Supporting Cast
CREW CREDITS: Episode Number Executive Producers, Producers, Director of Photography, Film Editor(s), Song Writers, Composer, Art Director Divider: Story 1 Director Writer(s) Divider: Story 2 Director Writer(s) Divider: Story 3 Director Writer(s) Remaining Crew (Producers, DOP, Editor, Music, Art
I would put all three Story Titles before the cast members because the cast isn't identified anywhere by story segment. And I would put the Producers through Art before the Story Titles and the segment director and writers after each story title because that's the only way they're identified.
Also should I add the role names for the stars in addition to their ship jobs (even though they aren't credited by character name)?
I have most of the data collected, it's just a matter of how to display it. I have put it aside for a dy or two while I work on The Mod Squad, S1V2, which just came out on Tuesday. It's not so difficult to profile.

As for your role question, you know that answer. Woulkd adding names be against the rules...Yes. Fred Grandy is Your Purser not Gopher.

| Posted: | | | | Looks like you are watching the shows for the credits, since you piked up that Hermione Baddeley was KITTY Pickrel not Mrs. Pickrel. BTW: Jimmy Walker in the 1st episode played Ronald Baker not Arnold (I had to watch the whole episode with CC on to catch his name, but it's clearly Ronald not Arnold -- and Baker's his last name (I think when he proposed to Ginny he said something (or she did) about being Mrs. Ronald Baker.) The only question I have about your profiles is why you didn't show which episode the director/writer(s) were credited with? Your way looks cleaner, but misses part of the way the episodes are credited. Though I can be convinced. I may get The Mod Squad finished tonight. I just scanned the cover. And I did two of the 4 disks last night. I had to watch one episode to see the role two actors played. Luckily I recognized both of them (Barry Brown and Alex Montoya). Louis Gossett, Jr. is in the same episode billed as Lou Gossett. I'm not sure whether to show him with a comma before Jr. or not. The CLT favors the name w/o the comma (IMDb standard, though). My local DB has all three: Lou Gossett, Louis Gossett Jr. and Louis Gosset, Jr. Lawrence Casey is in one episode billed as Larry. I wish Aaron Spelling's companies (ASProductions, Thomas/Spelling Productions, Spelling/Goldberg Productions) showed more role names than they did. Also, there were several actors in each episode who didn't get any credit. I don't recognize them, so they'll have to remain "uncredited" in my profiles. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? | Posted: | | | | On Lou Gossett which was his billing in his younger days, sorry Lou. I am willing to bet you that you will find a LOT of crossover between lou Jr and Lou, Jr. Crossover meaning duplicate titles with different billing, I am also willing to bet that the majority of the Lou J. if checked would be in reality Lou, Jr. In short...yes a lot of people are ignoring the Rules.
